In this article we review the Sigelei 150W box mod. Sigelei are renowned for their well-built affordable range of box mods. We have been using the Sigelei 150W for the past few weeks to review lots of sub ohm tanks and have been very impressed with it.
With sub ohm vaping having been made much more accessible to the masses and some new sub ohm tanks capable of hitting 150W, many people are now looking for a 150W box mod that they can use for their high wattage coils. We very rarely go beyond 100W, but I think it is nice to have the wattage there if you should need it. It has been great for us for testing the that can fire at those high wattage ranges. The two 18650 batteries will also mean that you won’t need to charge your batteries for a long time.
Using the Sigelei 150W
- 5 clicks of the fire button to turn on and off
- Hold down plus and minus to lock the screen
- Hold down plus to increase the wattage and minus to decrease the wattage. The wattage will scroll in 0.1W increments up until 49W, after which it will scroll in 1W increments

What we liked about the Sigelei 150W
With every Sigelei box mod you know you are getting a well built and solid device. The Sigelei 150W is no exception. It is a solidly built box mod that works very well and is very reliable. It just feels really sturdy and works flawlessly time and time again.
Some build quality features that stood out for me:
- Big easy to hit fire button
- Spring loaded 510 pin
- Lots of air vents on the bottom of the device
- Magnetic snap on back to access the battery compartment with ease
3 Month Warranty
Good warranties are few and far between on the majority of box mods, but the Sigelei 150W comes with a decent 90 day warranty should anything go wrong with your box.
The aesthetics on the Sigelei 150W have been improved upon over the older Sigelei box mods. The whole Sigelei 150W box looks a lot sleeker. The box also comes with a nice fitting silicon sleeve, which you can use to stop your Sigelei 150 from scratching. The Silicon picks up a little dust, but feels really good in the hand and helps protect your box mod. We got our Sigelei 150W in white and think it looks gorgeous!
Spring Loaded 510 Connection
I think a spring loaded pin is a must these days. The 510 connection on the Sigelei 150W works very well and all the tanks we tried on it sat perfectly flush. The box mod is around 23mm wide, so all your 22mm clearomizers will sit nicely on top without overlapping.
Good Safety Features
The Sigelei 150W comes with a heap of expected safety features, ensuring you are protected from any major issues. These features include the following:
- Low voltage protection
- High voltage protection
- Reverse polarity protection
- Low resistance protection
- Short circuit protection
- High temperature warning
Capable of Firing at Low Resistances
The Sigelei 150W is capable of firing all the way down to around 0.15ohm. This is good for those who want to sub ohm vape with exceptionally low ohm builds. This also means the Sigelei 150W will have no issues dealing with all the new low ohm pre-made coils for the newer sub ohm tanks.
Well Written Manual and Nice Packaging
It is good to see a nicely written manual not filled with millions of spelling mistakes. The manual is fairly comprehensive and covers everything you need to know about your device.
Big Firing Button
At first I thought it looked a little ugly, but now I really like the big firing button on the Sigelei 150W. It makes for really easy firing and clicks just right.
I think this is one of the reasons lots of people enjoy using such a high wattage box mod, as the battery life is phenomenal having those two 18650 batteries (device doesn’t come with batteries!). Even though you might rarely go above 100W, it is great to have a device that you won’t need to charge twice a day. You’ll get a good two days’ worth of heavy vaping on lower ohm coils and those vaping on higher ohm coils at lower wattages will enjoy an even longer battery life.
I like the magnetic back on top of the battery casing on the Sigelei 150W. This makes changing the batteries easy and you don’t have to use any screws. The magnets are fairly strong and there is no rattling of the back and it sits nice and flush.
Areas for improvement on the Sigelei 150W
I am not the biggest fan of the screen on the Sigelei 150W. It shows you enough information on the screen, but I just don’t really like the way it looks. It looks slightly cheap to me and ruins the overall aesthetics of the device somewhat, in my opinion. I much prefer the screen on the Cloupor T8 for example. It isn’t really a big deal, but just a little thing that could be improved upon.
Scrolling Up and Down the Wattages
Scrolling up and down the wattages on the Sigelei 150W is somewhat cumbersome. It goes up in 0.1W increments to 49W, after which it goes up in 1W increments. I found myself always missing the wattage I wanted, as soon as the accelerator kicked in. It would be good to have some pre-set wattages you can set yourself and then flick quickly between these like on the Vaporfi Vox 2 50W. Again it’s not a deal breaker by any means, but another little thing that could be improved upon.
I think if you are after a 150W box mod the majority of people will recommend the Sigelei 150W and I can see why. It is such a solid box mod that does everything you want it to do. It won’t let you down and is built well and will handle some wear and tear. I liked the silicon casing the Sigelei 150W came with and the big firing button was really comfortable.
Overall there was not much to fault on this box mod at all. Like I said above I didn’t really like the screen, but that’s just my personal opinion. If you are in market for a 150W box mod, then the Sigelei 150W is a fantastic choice and you won’t be disappointed.
